Being raised in the home of an alcoholic father, Pastor Dale was introduced to Christianity in 1980 while attending Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee. He went to Trevecca after being offered a tennis scholarship. Under the influence of Christian friends and a wonderful pastor, he gave his heart and life to Jesus Christ. Soon after that Dale heard and accepted the call of God in his life to Pastoral Ministry. Because of the things he experienced growing up, he has great understanding and compassion for those who suffer with destructive lifestyles or who have been affected by a loved one with an addiction. With a sincere heart to serve and a passionate love for people, Pastor Dale endeavors every day to touch the lives of people who hurt with the love of Jesus. Pastor Dale and his family have served churches in Tennessee, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Florida and now serves the wonderful people of Gulf Coast Family Church of the Nazarene in Biloxi, Mississippi. |

Fall is a wonderful time of the year. The weather begins to cool down after a nice, hot Mississippi summer. Hurricance season is about over. We look forward to some wonderful holiday celebrations with our friends, family and church family at Thanksgiving and Christmas. This truly is the busiest time of the year. I believe this to be a most crucial time for us to slow down and take account of all that is happening in our lives as well. The busier we get, the more we need to reflect and allow God to give us some guidance as to what is really important and what is just busyness. If we do not take the time to examine our lives , we will be busier than we need to be and we will not have time for what God has for us to do.
We have talked a lot about being a community of catchers..allowing God to use us in reaching people with the amazing, unconditional love of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. In order for us to be effective as the body of Christ, we need to take account as well. We need to make sure the things that we choose to do will accomplish the mission of the church. In order for us to be able to distinguish that, we need to be in constant contact with the One who can make those things clear to us! All things in our life should hinge on the personal relationship we have with the Lord. Although there are many parts to that relationship, let me repeat the challenge I issued our congregation in March. Answer these crucial questions for yourself. If you find yourself lacking, make a change! Here are the crucial questions: Who are you discipling/mentoring? Who is discipling/ mentoring you? Who are you pouring your life into to help them be all they can be in Jesus name? Who are you learning from in order to be all you can be in Jesus name? The questions are important and they need to be answered. If you are not discipling and being discipled, you need to make a change. Rick Warren's beginning to the book "Purpose Drive Life" has made a huge impact on my life and I hope on our church. "It's not about me!" If it is not about me, then it must be about Him and if it is about Him, my focus will change. The focus of the church will change. We will be others driven instead of self-focused. May we always be an OTHERS DRIVEN church.
Hope to see YOU this Sunday!
Pastor Dale
